Gorgeous with nature and ocean
From the minute we arrived until the end of the stay we were made to feel at home Gene and his team, Subash and Sanita are wonderful friendly helpful people. The Coco bure is gorgeous with nature and ocean so close. We took our inflatible paddle boards and went on different destinations each day. We used Gene s taxi-man, Bablu, who was a most professional driver with great skills and personality. We were also delighted that the water was spring water and totally drinkable. It is actually quite hard to put words to such a special stay. We cant recommend it enough.
Response by (April 2017)Bula Katie! You two are great. Like kids in a candy store, so much fun! Cheers!
Grounds and location are fantastic
I'm loathe to write this review because I don't really want other people to know about this place... The grounds and location are fantastic; maybe the most picturesque location I've ever been to. The bure is basic but has everything you need. Bed is comfortable, water is hot and has good pressure. Kitchen is adequate no seperated from the living area which means you're not heating the house when the stove is on. I was concerned the bure would be too hot without air conditioning but it was not an issue - the thatched roof keeps the place comfortably cool all the time. Considering the price, I don't know how you could possibly ask for more...
Response by (April 2017)Thanks very much for your review Dave!! Your girl is a real sweetheart too. I wish you both my very best!
Take care, GenePS: the line "kitchen is adequate no seperated from the living area" is a bit confusing. But probably can't do anything about that now anyway. No worries heehee :-)
Honeymoon
Absolutely loved the little Coco Bure on our honeymoon. Simple and basic, but comfortable and exactly what we had hoped for in our first two weeks of married life. Bus stop just at the road was a quick ride into town for groceries or a lunch by the bay. Great taxis everywhere, so no need for a rental car... though such a stunning setting here at SigaSiga, you won't want to leave!
Host, Gene, was personable, helpful, & vibrant- gave us a tour of the town and was always there to help when we needed, even when it came to repairing/ replacing the fridge when it went out. If you're looking for a peaceful relaxing place in Savusavu, this is the one!
Great place to stay
Great place to stay, quiet and private, not luxurious but any means but clean and comfortable. Caretakers Sunita and Suni very friendly and helpful

Thanks very much for your constructive criticisms. We take them to heart and will make adjustments accordingly so our next guests may benefit. We have replaced the linens. The paddle just broke with the guest before you. We're working to find a new one. The FJ$10/day charge is to cover the cost of replacing it. They're nearly FJ$1500 and after 150 uses are likely to need replacement due to bottom wearing out. So we look at it like sharing them at cost. We really appreciate you leaving us a nice review are very happy to know you had a good time. Thanks again for choosing SigaSiga Sands! We hope to see you again in the near future and you can count on a discount of 15% or more depending on dates and length of stay.
Cheers! Gene
Very warm and welcoming place

Great accommodations!
Great accommodations!
Incredible snorkeling right off the beach
Had a great 2 week stay at Sigasiga-- incredible snorkeling right off the beach, very comfortable cottage, and well-equipped kitchen. Subash, Sunita and their family were very nice. Would stay again
Complete relaxation
A long overdue review..
We spent our belated honeymoon, 10 days, at SigaSiga and got to experience both the Coco bure and the Plantation villa. Different styles of accommodation but both equally great. We actually felt a bit guilty staying in the big villa when our kids were not with us, they would have loved it!
We did a lot of cooking ourselves and found everything we needed in the kitchen. The fresh fruit & veg available from the Savusavu market was our main diet - everything had so much flavour, and the market itself a great experience. When we felt lazy we ordered in some delicious dinned prepared by Sunita.
The location, perfect! We spent most of our time snorkeling, kayaking or just relaxing - perfect break from the hectic life in Sydney. The property was beautiful and Gene a great host - he was always there to help when needed, while other times we felt we had the property all to ourselves.
All in all a great stay, and we hope to go again (kids are asking to go all the time after seeing our photos)!

Response by (October 2017)Bula Teemu and Heli!
I apologize for my late response. It was so nice to have you both for a visit. Thanks so much for your gracious words. All of us here at Sigasiga love to hear back from our guests and I'll be sure they know you had such a great time.
We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Cheers! Gene
Wonderful Holiday
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Sigasiga Sands. The grounds are beautiful and the potential for growth for the resort is great. We stayed in the Coco Bure and found it clean and comfortable. It made us think of beach holidays in beach batches at home in NZ. If you expect 5 star accommodation you may be disappointed but we loved it. Subash looked after us so well and his wife Sunita cooked us wonderful meals. We feel sure that with the proposed new accommodation planned for later in the year the resort will go ahead in leaps and bounds. We are sure with the space available and the great location the resort will retain its wonderful feeling of peace and quiet. There is plenty to do and we used it as a base to explore a lot of the island. Would love to return.

Your kind words are much appreciated! I'll pass on your comments to Sunita about her cooking :-) We have finished the new hotel cottage you referred to. We also finished a complete renovation of your Coco cottage. As you say, we will always retain the charm and rural setting here even as we expand slowly but surely.
Best wishes from all of us,
Gene
5 Days in Paradise
We had the most wonderful time at Sigasiga Sands in the Coco Bure. It was clean and well maintained with all the basic amenities one required. The kitchen was more than adequately furnished although we only cooked breakfast since Savusavu had some amazing restaurants to try and the food made by Sunita (the cook on the property) was amazing.
Gene (the owner) was away when we stayed but he called and it was easy to keep in touch with him if we had any requests to make. The caretaker- Subash and his wife Sunita were wonderfully accommodating and lovely!
We enjoyed the snorkeling spot and walked out to the swimming lagoon. The well maintained expansive grounds were excellent to just lounge about in and we spent many nights star gazing. I could keep going on about how wonderful our stay here was- it was truly a slice of heaven in Savusavu and I cannot wait to return!
